Bag Tag 2008 FAQ

What is a bag tag?A Bag Tag is a pretty common type of disc golf tournament. Some people refer to it as a ladder style of play, meaning that participants are trying to climb the rungs of a ladder. More than just a competition the Bag Tag is also a fantastic way to get out and meet other players, learn new Disc Golf techniques, and make life-long friends. Plus it’s a great excuse to get outside and throw some discs.

That sounds confusing. What is the goal of a Bag Tag player?

Every participant receives a random numbered tag in the beginning of the year, and tries to end the year with the lowest numbered tag. Everyone wants to be number 1, right?

But how do I get a tag with a lower number?

If you challenge another player with a lower numbered tag and win, you exchange tags with that player.

What if I lose the challenge?

If you challenge a player with a lower numbered tag and lose nothing happens.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost is only $10. (Pretty cheap for the chance to play tons of local players and have fun all year.)

When does it start and end?

The contest will officially kick off on February 2nd, 2008 after the Ice Bowl awards ceremony. The end date is midnight on December 31st, 2008.

How do I sign up?

There are currently three choices for sign-up:

1 – At the Ice Bowl. After the awards are handed out for the Ice Bowl we are going to be taking sign-ups, and randomly assigning tags.

2 – Contact us: hburgdiscgolf@gmail.com. We should be able to arrange a meeting to get you signed up.

3 – Stop by Midtowne Market. (After 2/2/08) The owners of Midtowne have been nice enough to let us use their store as a distribution center. We expect that this will be the best and easiest method of sign-up for most players.
