4th of July

Posted by johnmarr on February 26, 2008

Johnny Griffin is currently working out the details for an awesome 4th of July Disc Golf get-together.  He hasn’t finalized all of the details yet, but here is what he has told us so far:

Johnny has rented shelter #3 at Westover on both Saturday July 5th & Sunday July 6th.  He is planning on grilling out both days.  Bring along your favorite food & beverages to share with the group.

There will be at least two group bag-tag rounds played each day.  Probably starting around 11am, but nothing definite yet.  Johnny is considering a match-play format to mix it up a little bit.

What better way to celebrate the 4th than by grilling-out and playing disc golf?  As we get more details we will let everyone know.    If you have any questions about this 4th of July Disc Golf Extravaganza please feel free to post them here, or contact Johnny.

We’ll have to get a real update from Johnny, but from what I remember him telling me that weekend is a official “introduce new players to the game” weekend. I don’t think there is any PDGA competitions that weekend and the whole idea is to get new people to try out the sport. It’s certainly a long way away but the plans so far sound like a blast. And I hear from an inside source that Johnny makes some kickin chicken wings.
